The Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) recently hired Nicole Loreto as its new communications and marketing director.
Loreto brings 20 years of experience in the private and public sectors to CanWEA, including the provision of communications and marketing on key files for organizations such as EDS Canada in information technology services and electronic commerce, the urban agenda and sustainable development with the Canadian Federation of Municipalities, and the promotion of Canadian culture and organization of major events. In addition, she has acted as a communications advisor at the federal and provincial government level.
In her new role, Loreto will be responsible for raising the profile of the wind energy industry with media, governments, stakeholders and the general public. She will be a part of CanWEA's new Communications Committee, which will implement new outreach strategies in Canadian provinces – particularly Ontario and Quebec.
