0

Brookfield Renewable Energy Partners LP has entered into agreements to acquire interests in two wind projects in California.

The first project is a 150 MW wind farm in the Tehachapi region of California, close to the company's existing 102 MW wind farm, which has a 24-year power purchase agreement with Southern California Edison. The new 150 MW wind farm consists of 50 Vestas V90 3 MW wind turbines.

Brookfield has also acquired an incremental 50% interest in its 102 MW wind farm in Tehachapi, Calif., bringing the company's interest to 100%. The company also has acquired an additional 22 MW of operating wind generation capacity from the company's existing partner, the Coram Energy Group.

Brookfield will manage all of these newly acquired assets, which will be integrated into its North American operating platform. The transactions are subject to customary closing conditions and are expected to close this quarter.
