Boulder Wind Power Hires New VP Of Engineering

Boulder Wind Power (BWP), a manufacturer of direct-drive wind turbines, has announced that Paulo Guedes-Pinto has joined the company as vice president of engineering.

In this role, Guedes-Pinto will oversee BWP's engineering team and will be responsible for the detailed design and commercialization of the company's direct-drive generator.

Guedes-Pinto most recently served as director of engineering at FMC Technologies, where he led a team of more than 50 engineers and designers responsible for the development and detailed design of high-speed permanent-magnet motors and generators for land and subsea applications, variable-frequency drives and magnetic bearings. He also led all research and development activities related to new products, manufacturing processes and materials.


Guedes-Pinto has more than 32 years of experience in manufacturing, including 20 years of experience in engineering management and in leading the design, development and manufacture of medium and large rotating electrical equipment.
