Gamesa says it has achieved another milestone in its U.S. sales strategy by signing a 103 MW supply contract with Calgary, Alberta-based energy delivery company Enbridge Inc.

Gamesa will provide 45 G97-2.1 MW and four G90-2.0 MW turbines at the New Creek wind farm in Grant County, W.Va. The project, expected to be in service in December 2016, was developed by EverPower Wind Holdings LLC, an independent U.S. renewable energy developer.

Enbridge recently acquired a 100% interest in New Creek from EverPower Wind Holdings. Enbridge's total investment is approximately $200 million.

Gamesa will transport, install and commission the towers, which are slated for delivery over the course of 2016. New Creek will be constructed under a fixed-price engineering, procurement and construction agreement with White Construction Inc. Gamesa will provide turbine operations and maintenance services under a five-year fixed-price contract – following which Enbridge will operate the farm.

This agreement marks the start of Gamesa's business relationship with Enbridge, which has a renewable energy portfolio of nearly 2 GW. It also reinforces Gamesa's strategy in the U.S., which, in the first nine months of the year, represented 11% of the company's sales volumes (by MW).
