Miami-based Atlantic Wind and Solar Inc. (AWSL) and Tempe, Ariz.-based Centripetal Dynamics Inc. (CDI) are collaborating to develop hybrid wind/solar energy projects in Ontario. Ontario's new feed-in tariff will offer renewable energy generators a stable, competitive price, combined with a long-term contract.
AWSL and CDI plan to collaborate on up to 20 renewable energy projects, totaling approximately 800 MW. AWSL has retained the services of CDI to support the design and implementation of the wind power interests for these projects in Canada.
The parties will also be evaluating the Canadian market to determine if Ontario could provide a setting for a future CDI manufacturing plant for wind turbine blades, nacelles or other alternative energy components or subsystems.
