Arizona Public Service Co. has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for energy generated from small renewable projects.
The energy must come from projects with a capacity of between 2 MW and 15 MW with a commercial operation date by Dec. 31, 2012, for wind and solar projects, and by Dec. 31, 2013, for all other technologies. Eligible resources include wind, hybrid wind, biogas, landfill gas, biomass, geothermal, solar and certain hydropower technologies.
The solicitation is part of APS' small generation program, which is designed to accelerate the number of small renewable generation projects by streamlining the proposal and contract procedures.
Energy from this proposal will go toward meeting the renewable portfolio standard set by the Arizona Corporation Commission in 2006.
Interested parties are encouraged to participate in a bidder's conference on May 20.
