AMSC Receives $10 Million Order For Wind Turbine Core Electrical Components

Devens, Mass.-based American Superconductor Corp. (AMSC) has received a follow-on order for $10 million worth of wind turbine core electrical components from China's CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute Co. Ltd. (CSR-ZELRI), which will use the components in the 1.65 MW wind turbines designed by AMSC's wholly owned AMSC Windtec subsidiary.

CSR-ZELRI licensed its 1.65 MW wind turbine design from AMSC Windtec in January 2007. To date, CSR-ZELRI has ordered more than $20 million of core electrical components from AMSC.
