Canadian energy company AltaGas Ltd. says it has commissioned the Busch Ranch Wind Project, a 29 MW wind farm in southern Colorado. The project represents AltaGas' first foray into the U.S. wind energy market.

AltaGas owns a 50% interest in the project, and the local utility, Black Hills/Colorado Electric Utility Co. LP, owns the other 50%. The power generated from AltaGas' 50% interest is sold pursuant to a 25-year renewable energy purchase agreement with Black Hills Energy.
