Alstom has signed a contract worth around EUR 25 million with Enerplan, a power company from the Brazilian group Oleoplan, to supply wind turbines to the 27 MW Pontal wind project in Brazil.

The company will supply 10 units of its ECO 122 wind turbines, each of which generates 2.7 MW and has a rotor diameter of 122 meters. The nacelles will be manufactured domestically at Alstom's plant in Bahia State, and the towers will be produced at Alstom's new facility in Canoas. Alstom will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the wind turbines for five years.

Alstom says the Pontal project is slated for commissioning at the end of 2015.
