Alstom Agrees To Build Brazilian Tower Factory

Alstom has signed a letter of intent with the Brazilian government to begin building the company first Latin American factory dedicated to producing towers.

According to Alstom, the plant will be installed in Canoas, located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, beside Alstom's Grid unit. The new site will have an installed capacity of 120 towers per year, which represents around 350 MW, and should begin operating in the first half of 2013, the company notes.
