Acciona Windpower (AWP) has signed a 153 MW turbine supply contract in Brazil with Atlantic Energias Renovaveis, a renewable energy generation holding company.
The contract includes the supply and assembly of 51 AW 125/3000 turbines for the Santa Vitoria do Palmar wind power complex in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The 3 MW turbines – the biggest designed by AWP – will be mounted on 120-meter-high concrete and feature a 125-meter rotor diameter.
AWP has also signed a 15-year contract for the operations and maintenance of the turbines. The company notes it already has six supply contracts in Brazil for a total of 666 MW, making the country the company's biggest market in terms of 3 MW wind turbines.
