Montreal-based wind turbine manufacturer AAER Inc. says that the first turbine constructed at its facility in Bromont, Quebec, has been commissioned and begun generating power at the U.S. Marine Corp Logistics Base in Barstow, Calif.

‘Having our first turbine sold into the U.S. market successfully connected to the grid and generating electricity is a significant milestone for AAER,’ says Dave Gagnon, president and CEO of AAER. ‘It provides important validation of both our technology and manufacturing capabilities, while also giving us a high-profile opportunity to showcase our product to potential customers in the southwestern U.S.’

AAER also signed a warranty, maintenance and service agreement with ACCO Engineering Services, which will be assigned to the Marine Corps Logistics Base after commissioning.
