A2SEA, an offshore wind installation and services provider, says it will play a key role in building the Danish offshore wind farm Horns Rev 3 off the west coast of Denmark beginning summer 2018.

According to A2SEA, the 400 MW wind project is owned by Vattenfall, and the load out port will be Esbjerg. A2SEA’s purpose-built offshore installation vessel SEA INSTALLER will be deployed to install the 49 MHI Vestas 8.3 MW turbines.

Horns Rev 3 is an extension to the current Horns Rev 1 and 2 Offshore Wind Farms, also installed by A2SEA in 2002 and 2009, respectively. When fully commissioned, the 400 MW offshore wind farm will provide energy for well over 400,000 homes in Denmark.
