165.6 MW Comber Wind Project Completed In Ontario

Mortenson Construction has announced the completion of the 165.6 MW Comber Wind project, located in Essex County, Ontario.

Developed by Brookfield Renewable Energy Partners (BREP), the project consists of 72 2.3 MW Siemens turbines with 101-meter rotors. Mortenson was responsible for the engineering and construction of the access roads, foundations, underground and overhead electrical collection system and a 230 kV substation, as well as for the erection of the wind turbines.

Mortenson and BREP's construction partnership has been active in the Ontario wind market since 2005, with the development of Prince I and II Wind in Sault St. Marie, Ontario, followed by the construction of the 51 MW Gosfield Wind project.
